MIM Technology

1. Mold Manufacturing: Molds used in MIM are made of high-strength steel and designed to compensate for material shrinkage during the process. The number of cavities in the mold varies depending on the geometry of the part.

2.⁠ ⁠Feedstock: Feedstock is a mixture of metal powder and moldable binders, such as thermoplastics and waxes.

3.⁠ ⁠Injection: The feedstock is injected into the mold to form the green part, which presents initial contraction when leaving the mold.

4.⁠ ⁠Extraction (debiding): Process that removes the binders, resulting in the brown part. At BRN Metal, we use catalytic and solvent feedstock, which provides greater stability and/or speed.

5.⁠ ⁠Sintering: Process that joins metal particles to achieve high density (95-98%), adjusting the final dimensions.

6.⁠ ⁠Finishings: After sintering, heat treatments and machining can be performed to meet the customer's final specifications.
